The Internal Audit & Control Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the organisation's internal audit and control framework within a leading Agribusiness Enterprise, by conducting audits, monitoring compliance, identifying risks, and recommending improvements to strengthen operational efficiency and safeguard company assets.
Responsibilities
Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits in line with the approved audit plan.
Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
Assist in fraud prevention, detection, and investigation activities.
Document audit findings and prepare detailed audit reports with practical recommendations.
Monitor the implementation of agreed corrective actions and follow up on outstanding audit issues.
Support periodic risk assessments across business units.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate audit working papers and supporting documentation.
Requirement and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA, or CISA is an added advantage.
Training in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Fraud Prevention, or Internal Controls is desirable.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related function.
Good understanding of internal control frameworks and audit methodologies.
Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments.
Experience within the agribusiness sector is an advantage.
