Job Summary

The Head, Internal Audit & Control will be responsible for strengthening the organisation's governance, risk management, and internal control framework within a leading Agribusiness Enterprise. The role will lead the development and execution of the internal audit strategy while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies across all business functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organisation's internal audit strategy and annual audit plan.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control policies and procedures.
• Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across business functions.
• Assess key business risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
• Investigate financial discrepancies, irregularities, and control weaknesses.
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
• Lead and manage the internal audit team, providing guidance and professional development.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the board/audit committee.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions arising from audit findings.
• Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and sound governance across the organisation.

Requirement and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, plus relevant professional qualifications.
• Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance.
• Master's degree in Finance, Auditing, Risk Management, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIA, or CISA is required.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management methodologies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven leadership experience managing audit teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Experience within the agribusiness sector is an advantage.
